THEY'RE ALL WRAPPED IN ELECTRICAL TAPE AND WIRED. IF I JIGGLE THE FUCKING HARNESS THE SPEAKERS CUT OUT. WHAT THE SHIT?!
It's soldering iron and heat shrink time. Also there are about five million adapter harnesses in here. I'm guessing they're for deleting control of the stock remote CD player, which I need to figure out how to remove so I can put a storage cubby in its place.
God only knows what that long black wire is. It goes nowhere and it isn't an antenna, so I'm totally out of ideas.

Jesus, and I thought the haphazardly hack, twist, and tape wiring job on my stereo was bad. This is a whole new level!

Ground wire?

i found something similar back when I had my Tacoma. I pulled the dash, got wiring diagrams from the dealership, and spent a full day fixing someone else's shit.

I feel sorry for your Civic. I'm betting that black wire feeds energy to the clock that once stood in that black hole to the right.
[nodding head sideways in disapproval] It deserves a nope.

1) tape bluetooth speaker to dash.
2) have a beer to celebrate a job well done

That shit can be a mess.
This was my dash (during a heater fan motor repair) and the wiring was a mess.
I took the time to clean that shit up when i had it apart.

Yikes. I'm really hoping I don't have to tear down my dash that much.

Yes. And redundant systems. And quick disconnects everywhere. What I got was someone fucking around where they had no business fucking around, creating incredible amounts of headaches for hapless old me.

1. Place heat shrink on one wire
3. solder
4. Cover joint with heat shrink

Whoever did this must be the same guy that installed the stereo in my car before I got it - the volume knob didn't work so I replaced it - took it out to find that only 3 or 4 wires were tapes, none were soldered, everything was just twisted together, except a couple that came apart.
I'm surprised it never blew the fuse/caught fire.
